The Province of New Brunswick has tabled three new pieces of cannabis legislation that will set the framework for the use of recreational cannabis in the Province.
Bill-16, the Cannabis Control Act, deals with, among other thing, retail, use and consumption.
Bill-17, the Cannabis Management Corporation Act, establishes the Cannabis Management Corporation which will, among other things, manage the purchase, distribution and sale of recreational cannabis in the Province.
Bill-18, the Cannabis Education and Awareness Fund Act, establishes the Cannabis Education and Awareness Fund, which will be used to, among other things, fund education and awareness programs concerning the prevention of cannabis abuse and the responsible use of cannabis, develop and implement policies and programs relating to the responsible consumption of cannabis and fund research projects on cannabis and its consumption.
